Making a Difference

Thoughtful and well-designed spaces and equipment can significantly impact a student's ability to learn and create a sense of wellbeing, security and positivity. With this in mind, our goal this year is to raise $250,000 to serve two purposes: fund enhanced safety measures when you arrive at the school's front door and to purchase and install a dynamic lighting system for our gymnasium.

For those new to EC or new to our auctions, we have a raise the paddle moment during the event where we ask families to make a cash contribution to fund a significant need or needs at the school. Gifts range from $25 to $25,000. We call this "Making a Difference".

As many of you know, the gymnasium serves many purposes. It is a concert venue for performing arts, an assembly space, a liturgy space, a learning space and an athletic space. A new dynamic lighting system would allow plays to reach a new level of drama, highlight concert performers, add intimacy to liturgies and energize sporting events. It would allow our gymnasium to serve diverse events and programming more intentionally. The system will benefit all students, regardless of their interests.

The second purpose of this year's Making a Difference item will fund alterations to our main school entrance security. With the addition of an intercom system, cameras and school personnel's ability to unlock the door remotely, we will be able to better monitor and attend to our visitors and our students.
